Sensitivity enhancement and heteronuclear distance measurements in biological [.sup.17.O] solid-state NMR
Article Abstract:
A comprehensive approach is presented to study hydrogen bonding in biological and biomimetic systems through [.sup.17.O] and [.sup.17.O]-[.sup.1.H] solid-state NMR combined with density functional theory calculations of [.sup.17.O] and [.sup.1.H] parameters. The signal enhancement of [.sup.17.O] in L-tyrosine.HCl is explored by using repetitive double-frequency swept radio frequency pulses in solid-state NMR.

Structure of melaminium dihydrogenpyrophosphate and its formation from melaminium dihydrogenphosphate studied with powder diffraction data, solid-state NMR, and theoretical calculations
Article Abstract:
Melaminium dihydrogenpyrophosphate obtained as a crystalline powder by thermal treatment of melaminium dihydrogenphosphate is the first intermediate in the synthesis of polymerized melamine phosphates. The crystal structure of MPy is determined by X-ray powder diffraction and the proposed hydrogen-bonding model is corroborated by solid-state NMR and periodic DFT calculations.

Crystal structures f 1,3-distearoyl-2-oleoylglycerol and cocoa butter in the beta(V) phase reveal the driving force behind the occurrence of fat bloom on chocolate
Article Abstract:
Crystal structures are solved for 1,3-distearoyl-2-oleoylglycerol, a major cis-mono-unsaturated triglyceride fraction of cocoa butter, and cocoa butter itself in the beta(V) phase, on the basis of high-resolution synchrotron powder diffraction data. The latter implies that in fact a crystal structure model of chololate in the beta(V) phase are obtained.
